Hello, my name is Sarajoy Pickholtz. My friends call me Sj. I'm 60 years old and have been navigating the challenges of obesity for most of my life.
For years, I lived my life without many health issues. My cholesterol has always been good, no signs of diabetes, and my knees were fine well into my 40s. Eventually, it became harder to live the life I wanted.
I love music and concerts but haven’t comfortably been able to sit in a stadium seat since my teens. Standing through concerts became unbearable.
I’m afraid to go to friends’ houses if I don’t know if I’ll fit in chairs or on the toilet. And sometimes, it’s just hard to get into their houses if the steps are too high or there isn’t a railing I can hold on to.
My friends and family are supportive, but really, they don’t “get it.”
I searched for support groups that understood my struggles but found none that resonated. Weight Watchers, Noom, and 12-Step groups didn't work for me. So, I teamed up with a friend, Dietitian and health coach, Alisa Bloom, RDN and created what I needed—a support group of women who understood my struggles and could celebrate and sympathize with me as I move toward better health.

We motivate, inspire, encourage, and support each other in a safe environment where you can be comfortable sharing with people who "get it."
